Fredd Atkins Park – Monument Wall

The addition of Fredd Atkins Park to the Sarasota community was meant to represent an era of change within the city. One that would place a degree of emphasis on inclusion, rather than exclusion.

Sadly, from one example of shoddy workmanship to the next display of poor material selection, it becomes readily obvious that the work done within this park was sub-standard at best.

The Monument Wall was meant to serve as a focal point that would prominently showcase the names and achievements of some of Sarasota’s influential supporters of the black community.
